VCE Data from Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority
General trends
- Schools ranked in the top 20 mostly retained high VCE medians (36-37), while lower-ranked schools saw minor shifts in medians (31-34).
- A few schools with small median increases made significant rank improvements, emphasising the competitive nature of these rankings.
Overall, the 2023 and 2024 rankings reflect stability for some schools and movement for others. While some schools have demonstrated consistent academic performance, others have seen significant changes. Note again that this analysis only takes in account two years worth of VCE data and does not represent a long term trend.
As always, rankings and results should be considered alongside other factors such as leadership, school culture, extracurricular opportunities, and student wellbeing when assessing the best schools in Melbourne.
